JAWS Scripting
Scripting is a term which refers to the programming language which accompanies the screen-reader manufactured by Freedom Scientific. This programming interface facilitates the specific customization of JAWS for Windows in order to enable it's use with virtually any application. We have profound knowledge and experience in the area of JAWS and it's many customizations. The manufacturers of this screen reader often recommend scripting contracts to SSB BART Group because of our skill and experience. We have scripted applications with JAWS to meet ADA compliance at the following agencies and companies: Social Security Administration, the US Patent and Trademark Office, the Department of State, Capital One, Delta Airlines, and many others.
Scripting an application consists of:
- An initial assessment to determine the amount of time to complete the project
- A 4 - 8 hour session which may take place on location or at our offices
- Any time not used during the assessment may be applied to the scripting itself
- The scripting of the application
- Documentation of the modifications made to enable the use of JAWS with the program
- Training for the user to ensure their understanding and comfort with the program
